Covered With Love remodel

Quickly following the renovation of the food pantry, the resale shop, Covered With Love received a much-needed make-over of its own. Completely rearranging the flow and layout of the store and slightly expanding its footprint within the space, the redesign of Covered With Love allowed the shop to begin accepting gently used furniture and the addition of a new washer and dryer, generously donated by an anonymous donor and Trinity United Methodist Church ensured that every piece of clothing and linens would be washed before going out on the floor.

Food Pantry is remodeled and client choice model is adopted.

Early October 2020, God placed it on the Executive Director, Erin Didion, to begin the process of remodeling the food pantry. A complete remodel was long overdue but it was also during the middle of a pandemic. Nevertheless, God provided and not only were the funds raised for the project in record time but the staff was able to implement the model of client choice in the newly renovated space. Client choice allows neighbors to be active participants in the process of using the food pantry and puts the choice of what items they will feed their households in their hands where it belongs.

Shelter From The Rain

On the Washington Street side of the building, local author and artist, Bryan Ballinger installed the mural, 'Shelter From The Rain'. Not only is this a fun, interactive mural for neighbors and visitors alike, but it also represents our call to be a support and place of rest for our neighbors during the storms and trials of life. This mural was made possible by generous donations from anonymous donors, Kline's CPA Group, and the LaFontaine Arts Council.
